Self-Esteem

Believing, loving, and trusting ourselves is a lifelong practice. Most of us, if not all of us, have struggled with low self-esteem at some point in our lives. In today’s society, there are so many narratives around what we should be doing, how we should look, how we should feel, how we should think, interact, relate, connect. The list goes on. But what we forget is that these “should” statements place unrealistic expectations and pressures on us that make it impossible to thrive and be the best version of ourselves.

My approach:

I truly believe that everyone brings something unique and special to our environments.  As a therapist, I work with clients to gain and reclaim these parts of themselves in order to increase their relationship with themselves, and actually like who they are. Through talk therapy, I help clients process and better understand the narratives they have lived under that are no longer serving them, and making them feel insecure. I work with clients to create new narratives through mindfulness techniques, cognitive reconstructuring, and positive self-talk in order to increase self-esteem and confidence.

What sets me apart:

I am passionate. Helping my clients increase their self-esteem and confidence in themselves is one of the main reasons I wanted to become a therapist. I believe that when we have a healthy relationship with ourselves, we are able to have healthier relationships with all of the systems around us. My warm and direct approach, and let’s face it, the fact that I am also a human navigating this world, allows me to relate and connect with my clients and normalize the feeling of fluctuating self-esteem.
